Every vessel, skipper and experience on BoardMyBoat is checked before it can accept a booking. Here's exactly what that means.
Vessel standards
Owners confirm current survey or maintenance records, lifejackets for the full manifest, two forms of communication, flares or an EPIRB where required, and a serviced bilge and fire system. Listings that lapse are unpublished until they're back in order.
Skippers and crew
Charters carrying passengers for hire run with a licensed skipper from our captain network. We verify tickets, currency and local knowledge for the cruising ground you're booking.
Before you leave the dock
Your skipper walks the whole party through lifejackets, boarding, man-overboard procedure, weather calls and the plan for the day. Any charter can be postponed for weather at no cost — the skipper's call is final.
